Buračas’ realism, like that of the Impressionists, was based on an empathy with the mood of nature in a specific season and at a specific time of the day. But he painted differently to the Impressionists, although in his youth, when he was in Paris, he created some works in the Impressionist style too. In sunlit places, it is possible to distinguish combinations of blue and pink that were also used by the Impressionists.
