The exotic palm trees among which the Indians live are presented in such a way that the observer feels the unity of people and nature that has already been lost by contemporary civilisation. Peace of mind and a natural simplicity of shapes dominate the picture: deep shadows seem to preserve the mesmerising mysteries of the forest, while the sunlit places, painted in contrasting green and red, break into sound, like chords of powerful music.
