Series ‘Vilnius 1925’.
Ossecki used various engraving techniques, such as colour woodcut, etching, aquatint and mezzotint, and his prints come in various sizes. He selected different techniques for different views. In his woodcuts, he liked to portray the narrow streets and yards of the Old Town, showing the tight and compressed spaces, and the tough, sharp and unyielding nature of the stone architecture. He expressed the mysteriousness of the city by means of dramatic lighting and sharp contrasts between light and shade.
