This picture is from the cycle Landscapes of the Nemunas riversides, which in 1923 the artist began to paint with great inspiration and displayed them in exhibitions. J. Šileika especially painted many landscapes once he returned to Lithuania in the 1920s. This simplified panorama of the Nemunas, with the sky clad in dismal clouds, portends the coming of autumn.
