This Lithuanian song book with prayers was published at Johann Friedrich Reussner’s printing press in Königsberg in 1732. Johann Jacob Quandt (1686–1772), a theology professor and head preacher at Königsberg University, took charge of the preparation of the song book, and Johann Behrendt (1667–1737), the main priest at Insterburg, was the head of the editorial board. This publication is often called the Quandt-Behrendt song book. The book continued to be published, with revisions, until 1936. In all, more than 40 editions are known. The Ellex Valiunas collection has three editions of the song book (from 1845, 1850 and 1906).
