In picturing this monument of traditional Russian sacred architecture: all bright with its white brick walls and crowned with the blue domes, M. Rouba disclosed the beauty of its shapes and bulk and its harmonious relation with the landscape. This motif is painted using a range of cool bluish-green colours, thus creating a peaceful, contemplative mood in the landscape.
