The prayer book ‘The Voice of a Dove’ is an absolutely false imprint. Unlike most other books published at the time of the press ban, it had not been published before 1864 and was not reprinted afterwards. It was newly compiled and published, with the year 1863 indicated on the title page, and the place indicated as Zawadzki’s printing press in Vilnius. In fact, all editions were printed at J. Shoenke’s and Otto Mauderode’s printing presses in Tilsit. Approximately 50 editions of this prayer book came out during the press ban. The Ellex Valiunas collection has ten different editions of the prayer book ‘The Voice of a Dove’.
