This album deals with the map collections published from the 16th century and decorated with impressive frontispiece engravings. Each engraving is a unique piece of art containing various symbols and allegories and therefore reproduction of such engravings alongside maps from the LAWIN collection leaves space for readers’ imagination on what the first ancient atlases looked like.
The album, as the most beautiful publication of 2011, received the annual book award from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.
