EXHIBITION “SIGNS OF MEMORY: WORKS OF RIMANTAS SAKALAUSKAS” AT CHURCH HERITAGE MUSEUM

Rimantas Sakalauskas is a well-known sculptor, winner of the national prize of the Republic of Lithuania (2006). He is a graduate of sculpture studies at the State Art Institute (1977). From 1991 the public works of the artist may most often be seen in churches, chapels and cemeteries. The exception is the composition “Mandala” (2013) in Vilnius, Square of Tibet.

Liturgical works and tombstones are presented publicly for the first time.

The exhibition will also present the model of High Altar of Vilnius Franciscan Church, from the collection of the Lithuanian Art Foundation (VŠĮ Lietuvos dailės fondas).

The exhibition runs until February 7.
