The dark colouring of the picture emanates a slightly sad, elegiac mood. The silhouette of a small group of trees in the flatlands of Suvalkija is depicted softly and sensitively. The reflection of the trees in the pond is painted skilfully. Everything is as if covered with a veil of cold, grey fog. This spiritual picture reflects the state of a profound feeling from nature.
