Česlovas Janušas painted the sea at day and night. The artist conveyed the characteristic lighting of the sea and paid great attention to reflections of light in the water. Sometimes, like in this picture, he contrasted the play of the light among the waves with the reflection of the same light in the stagnant pools left by the tide.
