In this quite detailed, but lightly and precisely painted, watercolour Č. Janušas depicted an icestricken fishing port in winter. In representing the boats and the nearby working people, the artist used sharp contrasts of light and shade, and he painted the earth gently – with bright and lucid colours. The grey sky and bluish reflections on the surface of the snow and ice perfectly represent he lighting of the gloomy winter.
