Author: Pierre DuVal (1619–1683)

Pierre DuVal d’Abbeville (1619–1683) was a French cartographer and Nicolas Sanson’s son-in-law. Between 1651 and 1682, P. DuVal published more than 10 atlases, and his final one (containing almost 100 maps) was printed posthumously (about 1689) by his daughter. DuVal also rendered and published several big wall maps of the world, continents and individual countries. He did not create a separate map of the GDL, except as a part of Poland.
