The Gates of Dawn in Vilnius

Author: Odo Dobrowolski (1883–1917)

The early 20th-century painter Odo Dobrowolski (1883–1917) grew up in artistic circles in Lviv. He studied painting at Cracow Academy of Art, and between 1908 and 1912 he visited Paris and Munich. His numerous romantic pictures of the old town of Lviv were done in various techniques, including watercolour, pastel and ink. He also used the autolithography technique.
